Summer Reading 2015

This summer is shaping up to be an exciting one at the Greenville-Butler County Public Library with our 2015 Summer Reading Program, visit web “Every Hero Has a Story!” Children (rising K5 to rising 5th Grade) can attend our “Hero Academy, sick ” held every Thursday in June from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Activities include arts and crafts, viagra sale movies, LEGOs, snacks and much, much more! Parents can register their child at the Library.

The purpose of Summer Reading is, of course, to encourage reading throughout the summer. Therefore, children who participate in our program are encouraged to set a reading goal and sign a reading contract. Reading logs will be provided. Reading contracts should be turned in by Friday, June 19. Completed reading logs may be turned in at the library beginning on Friday, July 17. All participants who turn in completed reading logs by July 31 will be entered in the GRAND PRIZE DRAWING. ALL participants who turn in a reading log will receive a special prize package.

T-shirts will be available for sale for the cost of $6.

Along with our Hero Academy, we also have several special programs scheduled this summer including:

– McWane Science presents “Super Hero Science” at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 5.

– “Celebrate Hometown Heroes” at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 12: Come visit with Greenville’s own firefighters and police officers, see their equipment and vehicles and learn about their jobs!

– Hampstead Stage Co. presents “Robin Hood” on Friday, June 19 at 2 p.m.

– Draw with Children’s Book Illustrator Michael White on Friday, June 26 at 2 p.m.

– Doug Berky presents “GEMS: The World’s Wisdom Stories” on Wednesday, July 1 at 2 p.m.

– 4th Annual Star Wars Day on Saturday, Aug. 1 at 11 a.m.
