Mapping the Black Town w/Justin Rudder

Everyone is invited to "Mapping the Black Town with Justin Rudder," of the Alabama Department of Archives & History and sponsored by the Alabama Humanities Alliance. ABOUT THE PRESENTATION : Justin Rudder’s presentation focuses on the development of cartography from Black perspectives of community — including internal understanding of Black settlements often known as "the bottoms" or "the quarters" — as well as discussion of how to share such information with those interested in local history. Light refreshments will be served. The program starts at 10 a.m. in the library's Community Room.
