Greenville-Butler County Library

Mission

The primary role of the Greenville-Butler County Public Library is to serve the Butler County community as a formal education support system. Two secondary roles are as a popular materials library and as a preschoolers’ door to learning. A third role, which will not be given the emphasis of the primary and secondary roles, is to serve the community as a community activity center.

The mission of the library is to identify, acquire, organize, publicize, and disseminate those library resources and services which:

  1. Encourage and support lifelong learning for as great a number of citizens within the library’s service area as possible.
  2. Serve these citizens as a point of access for their informational needs.
  3. Enable these citizens to pursue cultural and recreational activities for personal growth and enjoyment.
